An Isaiah504 Ministry

Words for the Weary

Preaching is at the heart of my calling in God: as foolish as a voice calling in the wilderness; and as hopeful as a disciple learning words for the weary (Isa 50:4)

I am, as it happens, an ordained minister in the Church of England; now retired. But what really matters is whether the words I share are in accordance with God’s word (the Bible); full of the Spirit of Christ; and whether they feed those who hear. For my part, my desire is always to lift up Jesus and speak in Truth & Love

Background & Experience

I have been the recipient of great teaching from many giants of faith, on whose shoulders I stand. My words (and any failures) are my own. What I preach is shaped by who I am, but it is the gift of many who have poured their lives into mine

I have been part of a number of churches – Baptist, Charismatic, High, Low. I have had a career in a merchant bank. Learnt (still learning actually) what it is to be a husband and a father. Throughout it all I have been a disciple – often a poor one – but I look to Isaiah 50:4-11 as my inspiration

Core Values

These values relate to my calling as a preacher and teacher

This website is part of a group covering (or exploring) different aspects of my calling. It is also very much a work in progress. You are welcome to explore. The main site is Isaiah504, and so far I have also set up sites relating to my general church ministry, this Preaching site, and to my wider calling as a Pilgrim in search of the truth
